More Doors

These doors have CHARACTER, don't they?
I wonder who made them.
Sometimes shops will show where they got them, but these were nameless and without description.
At Old Sweetwater, we have eight or ten old interior doors.
All of them are over 135 years old.
They need to be professionally dipped-stripped.
Of course, they have lead paint.
But they are solid wood.
They're dented.
They're missing little chunks.
But they have character.
Do you like new or old doors?

Oh, old doors of course!!! There is just something about old doors, AND old screen doors! Once I passed by a house that had put a gorgeous old screen door out for the garbage. I stopped and tried my best to get it into my small car, but it was no use, it wouldn't fit, and I wasn't going back home for a while. I was so sad at leaving that pretty door laying beside the road! I enjoy reading your blog! Becky

These doors are a real find. Have you decided on a color or will they remain as they are? Either-way, they are beautiful!

I'm loving these doors!!! I much prefer old doors...I love the character and the detail. They tell a story from all the hands that have touched the handles to open and close them...lives have been lived in happiness and sorrow behind the doors.

Those are some of the most awesome doors I've ever seen! Love them. I like old doors for interior doors, but the old exterior doors are not very energy efficient - or warm in winter! I love it when someone finds a fun way to use a neat exterior door INSIDE!

They are beautiful. My dad is refurbishing a home that is about 100 years old. It has the sliding doors that are probably 12 feet tall. Big job! He strips and stains or paints everything.

I love these doors!!!!! I could give these doors such a good home! ;-) I have a fetish for old windows, too, and my old shed is filled with them!
