It's For The Birds Decor and More

There's a common idiom we say when we believe something is uninteresting or useless. I'm not sure how this saying got started because most humans like birds and are aware of their value. Anyway,  here are decorating ideas and a personal item featuring the birds. Does anyone have a bird or bird decor?
Photos from top: Dining Room; Forever Dried Wreath; Necklace - click for link; Bird Cake - wedding site; Bird glasses (you could paint your own!); Bird Planter (click here); Bird dishes and Bird Rug - Pottery Barn; Bird wall Graphic - Amazon.

I have bird glasses very similar to those you've featured! Mine have handles on them. At one time I also had a matching canister set, but I passed that on to my daughter. My glasses are almost 20 years old...we use them for our every day glasses. Nice post!

Oh Yeah! I'm a bird-o-holic, so I have birdhouses all over, bird prints in the kitchen and master bath, and a cast iron bird that I bought at a gift shop at Butchart Gardens in BC a few years ago. I sit the bird and a birdhouse with my Birds in GA book and small pair of binoculars on the end table in the living room so I'll always know where they are.

As info, right now I am sitting watching a downy woodpecker, Carolina wren, dark-eyed junco and sparrow eating from my deck. Love my birds! Becky

I love bird "stuff" so much I am panting at your post.
The rug, the dish, the cages.
Love it all. I have quite a bit of bird "stuff", but now I am looking for a bird cage.

Loved the post.
p.s. my folks used to raise canaries. I loved to hear them sing.

I have a ton of birds. They are everywhere. I just can't pass up a cute pair! Alas, I only have 1 cage (other than the huge one for my real parrot, Nina), but that's enough!

Have a super weekend, Janean. :-)

Sweet Spring! Love the tiny little bird houses in the wreath, did you notice right below them on the right side is a little flower that looks just like a bird?
I have a bird cage in the garage that I got at a yard sale....not sure what I planned to do with it! :D

Yes! I love birds. I adore watching them at the feeder "station" outside my dining room window. I love the "nesting" mindset about building and weaving and feathering our homes with what makes them special to us and our family. I have birdnests, (like everyone else!) some purchased, and some right out of my yard. Eggs, Birdcages, birdhouses, feathers, and of course birds. WE used to have chickens and I would get the insides out of the eggs through a pinhole, and save the colorful eggs for display. some were green, so it was so much fun. Birds of a feather flock together...Yes? And I love to come hover around your blog. It's simply lovely to visit with you. Your subjects always delight me. And I LOVE your photos. You will get tired of seeing that line in my comments, but I will tell you every time. :-) The plate is oh so beautiful. wish I had some like that, and what a pretty dining room and tablescape. Special. Thanks for sharing!!!! hugs.

I fell in love with a wonderful bird cage one day while shopping. My sister bought it for me and I filled it with moss, flowers, branches and "stuffed" birds. I did not want real birds to clean up after, but I love them and have bird pictures in my house.

I find myself picking up more and more things that are bird images. I think it must be the "nesting" instinct! Too bad all my little chicks have fled the nest. Maybe I'm unconsciously trying to "fill" my empty nest! Hmmm

Yes, I think birds are some of the most beautiful creatures, though I don't understand why the females of the species are almost always muted or dull in color. Oh well, I have bird images on my work table in my studio, just in time for Springtime creating. ~ Angela

You always do the best posts. Love birds and have several vintage birdie pictures hanging in the house. We also have two real live birdies hanging around in their cages.

A most appropriate post for the lady who has 30 chickens in her coop and 30 eggs in the incubator! LOL!

Bring it ON, birdies! :-D
